not the baby for much longer...

even though she's technically not a baby since she turns 3 in about a week. but i still think of her that way :) i will be induced monday morning at 7am. we can't wait to meet baby brother!

i made these tasty little red velvet cake balls for our valentines treat. i love bakerella's blog. if you haven't been there, check it out!

here's what the inside looks like. yum! and they were so easy to make. next time i think i will make the cake from scratch instead of a mix. anyone have a good recipe for red velvet cake?

37 weeks

this week i will be 37 weeks along. this pregnancy has gone by so fast. i will be induced at the end of february and i am so not ready. dr. still hasn't set a date yet, but i will let everyone know when she does. i was 2 cm dilated at my appointment last week. and we still haven't decided on a name for baby brother. oh, and i got a new haircut a couple of weeks ago. it's layered up real cute in the back.

made these today with the joyschool kids. they each got a turn measuring out ingredients and stirring. i wish i could have gotten a few pics of them in action but my hands were occupied. these turned out delicious! tried a new recipe, found it here

here's the finished floor. dan did a wonderful job! he has become quite the handyman lately. last month he did ceramic tile in the kitchen and entryway and this month he installed the laminate. i think i'll give him a much deserved break from projects for a little while :)

today is my sweet husband's birthday. i love you D!

what we've been up to....

we spent the three day weekend installing ikea laminate flooring in our living room and study. we love it! we are almost finished. just have the hallways and part of the study left to do. what a big improvement over our stinky old carpet! will post more pics when project is complete

...from the weekend. baby laila (sister emily's baby) was blessed at church by her daddy. so special to be there for that.

...i saw twilight over the weekend with my mom. i loved it!! makes me want to read the book all over again.

i got this book for christmas. i've been having fun looking at it and getting lots of good ideas. i'm in the process of redecorating a few rooms. i guess you could call it nesting.

i was at target over the weekend and all of their dwell studio line were on clearance. picked up a few items for baby boy. so at least now he won't have to come home from the hospital wearing pink hand-me-down from sisters :) and no, we still haven't picked out a name yet.

today was the last day of christmas vacation. back to school tomorrow. it was a yucky day today so we stayed inside. elayna made more of her birds she got from aunt emily. walmart sells these cute martha stewart crafts for kids.

we had a wonderful christmas day! we first opened presents at our home and then headed over to my parents home for a delicious brunch and more presents. all of my siblings were in town for christmas except for andy. we missed you andy! here's a few pics from the day. the girls didn't wake up until close to 9. that was the best present ever.

avery was in love with all of kyla's presents, especially her little dollhouse that came with furniture and little people. kyla was nice enough to let her play with it for a little bit.

29 weeks...

...and i am feeling quite large! i don't normally like to be on this side of the camera, especially when i'm pregnant. but dan wanted to take a few pictures to document my growing belling. i am already starting to get the "are you having twins" comments! these last few months are always so uncomfortable for me. at least i will be induced early this time :)

gingerbread houses

this morning the girls and i made some little gingerbread houses. well, kyla did. avery just decorated a graham cracker for a few minutes and then ran off

but she kept coming back to sneak handfuls of candy. she was in candy heaven.

oh christmas tree

so fun to have the christmas tree up. we have a tradition where we decorate the tree together while listening to christmas music. then we gather around the tree with christmas cookies and hot chocolate and daddy reads a christmas story (usually the polar express).

so kyla was looking at the photos on my blog yesterday and informed me that she looks like a boy in my last post. she told me that i am only to post "pretty" pictures of her. lol
