just a few from a wedding shot back in august. the high temperature that day was 109! no kidding. luckily, the bride and groom wanted to take most of their photos before the temple ceremony when it was a little cooler.

our sweet kyla turned eight years old last week. this was an extra special birthday because it is the age of baptism in our church. kyla was baptized on saturday by her daddy. we are so thankful for the family and friends who shared this special day with us!

here's just a few of the books i enjoyed reading over the summer...

the life of pi was a fascinating read! it is about an indian boy who survives 227 days after a shipwreck while stranded on a life boat with a bengal tiger. Besides being a great survival and adventure story, there is also deeper meaning to this tale.

i really loved this book and thought it was beautifully written. it's about a preacher and his family who journey into africa in the 50s. i liked how it was told through the viewpoint of his wife and four daughters.

jane eyre is one of my favorite books! i read it back in high school and decided to read it again. i had forgotten almost everything so it was sort of like reading it for the first time. i'm excited to see the movie that just came out on dvd.

i'm now on the hunt for a new book to read! any suggestions?

just me and my boy...

with all the girls at school now, it's just me and my little guy at home during the day. it's nice to have this time with just him before baby sister arrives next month. these photos were taken during "nap time" on my bed. i'm the only one who ever falls asleep. he plays quietly with his little cars and toys.
