our first cherry tomatoes from the tomatoe plant my mom gave us. they are delicious! we are for sure planting a garden next year!

starting to feel like summer...

..lots of watermelon! we had a great three day weekend. very relaxing. we watched a few movies and spent a lot of time playing outside with the girls. on monday we went swimming at grammy and grandpa's and had a delicious bbq. and look who came home from his mission in alaska today.....Uncle Jeremy!!

my mom got me a bosch mixer for my birthday and i am loving it! it is so nice to not have to knead bread by hand anymore. my breads turn out sooo much better now! yesterday i made a couple of loaves of french bread to go with dinner. i also made some garlic herb butter to go with it. got that recipe from martha stewart.

kyla outgrew these boots many months ago but still manages to somehow squeeze her little feet into them. she insists on wearing them everywhere! i really need to get her a new pair.

my sweet girls made me the most adorable cards and homemade presents for mother's day. here's a card elayna made with her scrapbooking supplies. and dan really spoiled me by making me breakfast and dinner AND doing all the dishes! he also surprised me with a bag full of my favorite victoria's secret lotions and body washes.

3. i have a strange memory. i can remember faces and names from meeting a person just once but can't remember if i turned the oven off five minutes ago.
4. i am currently reading Pillars of the Earth. cant put it down. my house is a complete disaster because of my obsession with this book. i'm surprised i'm even on the computer blogging right now.
5. i am a HUGE american idol fan. i really hope this guy wins! love him.

cinco de mayo....

that was our theme for joyschool today. we made these mexican sun masks. the kids played a game called "mexican jumping beans." they jumped around like crazy little jumping beans to tejano music on the radio. when the music stopped they had to freeze. they wanted to play this game for quite a while. they had a lot of energy!

this weekend...

we had a very enjoyable weekend. we went on a few walks and a trip to the southdown water park. stake conference was this weekend and we enjoyed being able to attend the adult session saturday night. thanks uncle tata and breeanna for watching the girls! we just got back from a delicious potatoe bar at grammy and grampa's house. here's a few photos from friday evening walk. elayna was the only one willing to sit still for a few :)
